I studied the Philippines...It's a good insight. I studied the Philippines for some years, where clientelism is a way of life. It had it's good and bad points, but it interacted poorly with both market and administration (there, tending to colonise both).<br /><br />A large part of Greece's problem was the mismatch between a clientelist system and EU ideology.<br /><br />I'm surprised the issue does not get more attention, given that the US is much the most clientelist of the developed states.Peter Thttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13289172253358199028noreply@blogger.com
