They cite my papers' <b>title</b> because it looks* to them like it confirms their assumption. Intellectual dishonesty is not the monopoly of undergrads.<br /><br />*things you learn when you give your paper an ambiguously sarcastic title.<br /><br />Following footnotes can be a revelation. Sometimes source "b" cited by source "a" didn't say what "a" said they said. Sometimes "b" pulled their data and/or conclusions out of thin air.
