I don't mean that people are not able to move to wage work but only that they face additional barriers in terms of years of job experience, credentials, recommendations from former employers, etc. -- which all means they usually have to accept low pay and low status work. Thus mobility from unpaid care work to paid employment is impeded. Work done outside the paid labour force rarely counts as work experience.
