How is it that the bastards that run the country are able to turn their mistakes into opportunities? Energy shortages demand the elimination of environmental restrictions. Food shortages demand more GE crops. The housing crisis requires tax cuts for corporations.
Nothing for the people who are being plowed under by the crisis. All we have to show for our troubles is Obama and Hillary.

Which is why some of us doubt that they were mistakes at all. They may be stupid, but they never seem to be the ones who suffer the negative consequences of their actions.

Sometimes it isn't life that hands out the lemons but those who control the lemon trees; then they make lemonade and toss the peel, pith and seeds in our backyards for us to clean up, work up a sweat and then buy the lemonade to cool down.

Even if GE, is a good technology, which I do not believe, leaving it in the hands of four or five corporations should be a matter of concern.
Also, I am not bitter, just pissed.
I just finished reading The Confiscation of American Prosperty. A good book, though a bit grim. I lived through the entire period covered, but I had forgotten how many economic bad patches there were and how much we have lost.
The book gives the answer to your question. Up to a point, really good propaganda can obscure reality.
Who decided that anger, formerly a righteous, usually decent, reaction to outrageous acts, is now a public bad, one that disqualifies the argument?

Contra you, I do think that GE is good technology, but you are definitely right that it shouldn't be left in the hands of four or five corporations.
I don't want to debate GE. I don't like General Electric, but that is my position.
