NPR on Fighting Fair

I was listening in to NPR, hearing about what the powerful Russian airforce is doing to defenseless citizens in Georgia. What I did not hear was how similar Russian explanations for their actions and their tactics sound identical to those of the US military -- including taking out defense and communications facilities.

Yes. Not unlike corporate socialism.

John D. Rockefeller and other 19th century fellow-capitalists knew that no great financial wealth could be built up under a competitive market economy.

The state granted them monopoly. Helped them drive out competitors, reduce competition, and especially, get government protection for their industry through compliant politicians and lax regulation. They obtained a legal monopoly, and a legal monopoly always leads to wealth.

The other thing that you did not hear was how this also at least partly payback for the US leading NATO into Kosovo to stop the Serbians under Milosowicz from engaging in ethnic cleansing, with the US bombing deep in Serbia, including the capital of Belgrade, where the US accidentally hit the Chinese embassy, an act the Chinese did not accept was an accident at the time.
